Noah Kalina — The River

People often say: everybody approaches photographic projects differently. What might work for you doesn’t have to work for someone else. While one photographer swears by being consistent, the other might say it’s boring that way.

Consistency is great if you’re painting a wall in your house but boring if you’re making art.
Matthew Dunne

So I don’t agree with this quote, and this project by Noah Kalina is a good example of why. Consistency makes this project. On their own each image is just a photograph of a landscape (a pretty one that is), but together they paint a picture of the river in this valley. They take you as a viewer through the seasons, as the landscape changes from fresh and green to cold and icy.

Accomplishing this with a few pictures is a big thing, and only by being consistent Noah made sure it worked out.
